AMS Open End Probes
Responding to requests from farmers for a fast way to obtain samples at shallow depths, AMS has introduced the Open End Soil Probe. It is made from chrome plated, chrome molybdenum steel with a heattreated tip. This Probe has a 1 1/8” outside diameter, is 33” long with a 13” open end slot. It is supplied with a chrome-plated cross handle.

The AMS open end probe collects a 1" diameter sample about 12" long. It is made from nickel plated type 4130 chrome molybdenum steel. The 13" long body slot is cut to the end of the probe to facilitate emptying. It is supplied with a comfortably gripped cross handle.
For environmental sampling of piles and sidewalls of trenches,
It comes complete with a stainless cross handle. These can be used with AMS Slide Hammers and Extensions
