The AMS sand auger is a closed bit design with a restricted opening to prevent loss of sampled material. The inner edges of the bits just barely touch at their mid point. AMS sand augers are available with Signature Series, threaded and Quick Connect connections.

Sand augers are manufactured with a carbon steel bail and a stainless steel cylinder, with the exception of the 5", 6" and 7" models, which are made with carbon steel cylinders. Most augers are also available in all stainless steel. AMS sand augers are available with a 5/8" threaded connection, with the exception of the 6" and 7" models, which are available with a 3/4" threaded connection.

All sizes are available with the Quick Connect connection.
