VENTUS Ultrasonic Wind Sensor

Extremely precise and maintenance-free measurement of wind velocity and wind direction as well as calculation of acoustic virtual temperature. The VENTUS ultrasonic wind sensor is designed without mechanical parts as they have been used with traditional "cups and vanes". The digital or analog output delivers instantaneous, average, min or max value with flexible measuring rate. The VENTUS is heated in case reaching critical ambient conditions. Made for cold climate! Recommended for: wind turbines, marine/ships, meteorology or building automation. The following outputs/protocols are available: NMEA, ASCII, UMB and 4.. 20 mA analog.

Lufft Ventus Mil Spec Ultrasonic Wind Speed and Direction Sensor

VENTUS is a seawater-resistant wind meter which in addition to determining wind direction and wind speed is also capable of calculating virtual temperature. The equipment is connected by way of an 8 pole screw connector. The measured values can be requested over a variety of interfaces:

- RS485 interface in half or full duplex
o UMB binary protocol
o UMB ASCII protocol
o NMEA protocol
- Analog data output of 2 adjustable channels with 4-20 mA

Recommended for:

- meteorology
- building automation

During commissioning, configuration and measurement polling takes place using the UMB-Config-Tool (Windows® PC software).
